If you can remember the first time that you heard the Beatles, you're probably aware of the impact their recordings had on the world. Since relatively few people were able to see them play live, the idea of a tribute to them has always been a popular one. Now, there is an act that combines the sound, harmony and power of those great recordings along with the energy of the Beatles live performances, but without the wigs and the schtick ...

Based in Milwaukee, Apple Core is the brainchild of Tom & Scott McGowan. Along with childhood friend Billy Nice, they sought to stage a band that could do justice to the sounds of the original Beatle recordings; and they did just that. Apple Core was one of the premier bands in Wisconsin in the mid- 90's, playing most of the state's major venues and festivals. After a five-year hiatus, and with the addition of Mick Steiner and Ron White, "The Core" is back and starting to regain the enthusiastic following that they enjoyed in the past, playing Milwaukee's Summerfest, Beatlefest in Chicago and the world's largest Beatles tribute festival, Abbey Road on the River, in Louisville, Kentucky.

The Apple Core show is a musical tour through the history of Rock 'n Roll by incorporating early Beatle rockers, later music from the Beatles studio period and various other favorites from the era. Audiences have come to expect the unexpected; as music from such diverse sources as Hendrix, Cream, The Who and others fill each performance with dancing, laughs and music that keeps a crowd demanding more.
